About Me

I have been working in the publishing industry for over 40 years. I have held the position of Editor, Senior Editor, and Editor-in-Chief at Ace Books, Doubleday, M. Evans, Random House, Kensington, Bantam, and Stealth Press (an Internet Publisher).

I have edited both Fiction and Non-Fiction, and I specialize in Science Fiction, Fantasy and Horror, Thrillers, Historical Fiction, Westerns, Military History, and Mysteries. I have worked with Isaac Asimov, Stephen King, Eric Van Lustbader, Walter Tevis, F. Paul Wilson, Don Coldsmith, Joe R. Lansdale, Brian Herbert and Kevin Anderson, Loren Estleman, the Louis LAmour Estate, and the Star Wars novelizations.

About You

Making the choice to become a writer is a courageous and serious decision. It is neither simple nor easy, but it is profoundly satisfying. Writing, by its very nature, relates our individual stories and what it means to be human. It invites readers to experience our pains and pleasures. There can be no meaningful inter-personal instruction unless the writers craft is honored, which is why both the writer and editor must respect discipline, dialogue and, growth.

About My Services

My job as an editorial consultant is to help you write the best book possible. In todays increasingly competitive publishing market, first impressions are vitally important. They can make or break a writing career.

I provide in-depth editing of Fiction and Non-Fiction manuscripts and proposals. I will examine your manuscript’s structure, characters, pacing, and plot in detail with you. We will continue this process until we feel your manuscript is as good as it can be. Then I will provide a final, line-by line edit. When the manuscript is finished, I will offer you the best advice and direction possible regarding potential agents and publishers.

I am also available to writing groups, universities etc. to speak on writing, literacy and creativity.
